For those who spend time at the track on speedwork, some notes from your program directors:
1. At the end of your speedwork, you should have felt tired but not exhausted. How can you tell the difference? You should feel like you could run another mile after completing your speedwork.
2. After each mile (half mile for half marathoners) repeat, keep walking. Do not stand around during your recover break other than to rehydrate. You should take approximately a 4 minute walk break between each mile repeat.
3. Make sure hydrate the afternoon of your speedwork session. Dallas is humid year-round and you taxed your body running at faster speeds. Hydration is critically important pre, during and post run.
